Grade I Listed Building Refurbishment

This flagship lecture theatre is in a sensitive location at the heart of UCL’s Grade I listed Wilkins Building. Early consultation with English Heritage and Camden planning authorities enabled this fast-track project to be completed six months after BDA received the commission.
We reconfigured the ‘front-of-house’ joinery to revert the stage back to its original design, and replaced incongruous tubular handrails with a more sympathetic bronze profile. Works also included new lighting, decoration, the removal of redundant joinery and the repair and reinstatement of the motorised lantern light.
