Completion of Council Rooms at UCL's Wilkins Building

January 2018

Burwell were asked by UCL to refresh and refurbish their council rooms, including the Harvard Committee Room.

Built in 1874, the South Wing Block of the Wilkins Building is Grade 1 Listed and is part of the Bloomsbury conservation area. The Council Room (G12) and the Committee Room (G14) are located on the ground floor of the South Wing Building. According to UCL’s Facilities management report, the South Wing includes highly significant architectural features considering the listed status of the building.

Working with contractor Elev8, we have upgraded the technical performance of the rooms including integrated AV equipment, connectivity, and new lighting, whilst refreshing the interior design and furniture provision. The resulting refurbished space has been greatly appreciated by the Directors and staff at UCL who have used it.
