The Bishops Avenue

Burwell Architects have secured planning approval, working in close collaboration with Hollybrook Homes, to redevelop a disused site in the heart of East Finchley.

The scheme introduces three five-bedroom houses, each carefully positioned within the compact site to respect and enhance the surrounding context.

Drawing inspiration from the area’s rich Arts and Crafts heritage, the design references the work of architects such as Edwin Lutyens and Charles Voysey to create homes that are contemporary in function yet rooted in local character.

Facades are articulated in red brick with hung clay tiles, reinforcing the craftsmanship and material qualities that define this neighbourhood. Once complete, the development will transform a long underused site into new family homes of lasting quality.
