New ways of working at Greenwich House

January 2023

This newly completed project creates an agile working pilot space for the University of Cambridge

Building upon Burwell Architect's experience within the commercial sector, this project has created a trial space to support 'new ways of working' for the university’s support and administration teams. The project forms the first piece in the adoption of the universities ‘Reshaping The Estate’ programme, and creates a work environment that supports a blend of activity based, and hybrid working practices. The project has provided a range of different working environments to support changes in space usage following the introduction of remote working arrangements during the Covid pandemic. These spaces included hot desks, sit/stand desks, individual and group enclosed pods, group open booths, break-out, meeting, and social areas.

The success of this trial space has led to similar commissions from the University of Cambridge, including projects for the Architecture and Engineering departments that will explore new ways of working.
